70's Disco-Pop Juice

In the solitude of his boarding school, 17-year-old Michaël, now a designer, found a world of escape in the pages of Maupassant’s ‘Une vie’. Each line read in the tranquility of his room unfolded like a secret door into Jeanne’s manor, offering a break from the daily monotony and inviting him to explore the contours of his own inner universe, vibrant with colors and life.

One passage, for instance, reconnected him to his deep nature: “She walked ahead, savoring the simple joy of breathing, of living, of strolling under a vast sky, feeling on her skin the caress of the soft air and light. Sometimes, she stopped to gaze at the bright horizon, or bent down to observe the flowers, the insects, the little world of the ground that reflects the infinite variety of life on Earth.”

It was with these emotions and teenage memories that he envisioned a design set centered around Claude Monet’s painting ‘La Promenade’, a visual echo to the cover of this novel.

A child of the 70s, he drew inspiration from this vibrant period to propose designs with round, tangy forms in a bright orange that reminded him of the candies of his childhood, the "Roudoudou" seashells—sweets made of cooked and flavored sugar poured into small shells. Stepping into this decor is like crossing the threshold of Jeanne’s manor, but instead of finding a 19th-century setting, one discovers a space where the designer’s imagination takes shape, creating a sparkling retro-futuristic proposal, promising to deliver a burst of vitamin C to your interior.
