Adornments of Oz

Adornments of Oz is the result of a designer's inquiry into how to meet a contemporary challenge: the restoration of a beautiful historic residence. How can one transform a large-volume space, such as a guardroom or a majestic hall, into a modern setting without compromising its heritage? The ambition here is to respect the architectural authenticity while incorporating contemporary elements that create a space that is both practical and timeless in style.

The layout of the space has been meticulously orchestrated. Clearly defined areas bring coherence to the whole: a dining area equipped with a welcoming large table and a lounge arranged around a coffee table surrounded by cozy armchairs. Exceptionally oversized vases, sideboards, and elegant chiffoniers near the fireplace are practical elements in harmony with the rest of the decor.

Rugs, matching the furniture, delineate these areas to enhance visual harmony.

Various spherical luminaires, arranged to highlight each space under the French ceiling and combined with the use of deep green and gold, evoke the brilliance of the Emerald City from The Wizard of Oz. This elegant and refined combination creates a vivid tableau, inspiring those who live there to slip on Dorothy's silver shoes, inviting them to walk in her footsteps and claim a world that is both ancient and reshaped by time.
